enduring powers of attorney

The EPOA's relate to both the Care and Welfare and Property of the Donor.

Both types of EPOA are important to give the Donor peace of mind and also ensure that the important people in their lives know how they can support and care for the Donor. We recommend this happens voluntarily before the Donor no longer has capacity and an application has to be made to the Family Court.

IT IS YOUR HUMAN RIGHT TO DEAL WITH YOUR PROPERTY AND MAKE DECISIONS ABOUT YOUR WELFARE.  The NZ Courts will not easily allow someone else to make those decisions for you!

The law changes on 16 March 2017 with the forms for Enduring Powers of Attorney allow YOU to choose someone you trust to make those decisions for you!

YOUR JOB? - CARE AND WELFARE - Welfare Guardian

  1. Pick one person you trust to speak to your Doctors and will make good decisions on your behalf?  Now pick a replacement (just in case)!

  2. Ask those two people - NOW!

  3. Do you want anyone else to be A. told about and/or B. given information about the care and welfare decisions being made about you? Yes? - List their name(s), occupation(s) and address(es).

YOUR JOB? - PROPERTY - Property Manager

  1. Pick up to two people you trust to take care of your property and financial matters on your behalf?  Now pick a replacement (just in case)!

  2. Ask those two people - NOW!

  3. Think of and list all your assets, big and small, joint (you and someone else) and personally (you own alone),

  4. Decide whether your Property Managers can deal with all your property in  general or only with specific assets.  You must specify which assets they can not deal with.

  5. Do you want anyone else to be A. told about and/or B. given information about the care and welfare decisions being made about you? Yes? - List their name(s), occupation(s) and address(es).
